Text4Baby Program
Participation in the program is easy. Pregnant women can simply register online or from their cell phone by texting the word BABY (or BEBE for Spanish) to 511411. Then, they will need to enter their baby's due date or their baby's birthday, as well as, their zip code. Once signed up, women will receive text messages every week, timed to their due date or their baby's birth date.
The goals of the Text4baby service include:
- Reduction of infant mortality and premature births
- Fewer incidences of low birth weights
- Reduction in SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome)
- Reduction in birth defects and maternal complications
