Project RN
A Path to Higher Education Levels for Community Nurses
The shortage of well trained nurses hurts. Patients feel better and recover faster with a skilled, compassionate nurse at their side. But there’s not always enough well trained nurses to meet the needs in our CareFirst service area.
Our partnership with nursing institutions in Maryland, Washington DC and Northern Virginia gets to the root cause of this critical care issue – a shortage of trained and experienced faculty to teach nursing skills.
We support Project RN with $1 million in education-related stipends, affording 12 Masters level nursing students the opportunity to gain new skills and advanced care procedures to pass along to the emerging corps of student nurses.
